620 SW 5th Ave Suite 700: Portland, OR

This project is an alternative style tenant improvement in a 1920’s era office building in downtown Portland. Designed on a very tight construction budget, the designers set the level of finished sophistication on a gradient level starting with the lowest; the floor. The finishes are less expensive as one’s eye moves towards the ceiling, which is a remnant ceiling from a long past tenant. The only addition to the ceiling is stainless steel covers over existing penetration in the plaster. The entire office is tied together with an exposed steel frame that holds partitions, lighting, data and power. The project was completed for $13 / square foot.
