Celebrating its 50th Anniversary since its founding in 1961, the Willamette Sailing Club (WSC) is looking to the future in the planning of replacement facilities to better serve its members and public. The existing floating “clubhouse” and boathouse are significantly aged, and with the growth of its instructional programs do not adequately meet their space needs. COLAB is working with WSC in Phase 1 to develop the Planning and Concept Design of a consolidated WSC New Sailing Facility that will address their long term goals and gain development approvals from local agencies. Phase 2 will include the detailed design and permitting of that facility.
The goal of the facility design is to balance the functional growth of the club, while creating an inviting environment that fosters the Corinthian sport of sailing. As a unique floating structure the New Sailing Facility will create a stronger connection to and presence along one of the region’s greatest assets, the Willamette River.
