The Albina Warehouse: Portland, OR

The program for this project is to redevelop an existing 15,000 square foot warehouse into flex workspaces and to add one penthouse residential unit. The existing building will undergo a full seismic upgrade. An adjacent 17-foot wide vacant lot will be developed adding 2,550 square feet of flex space to the existing structure. A new elevator and stair will be located in the new building along with seismic upgrade steel and concrete reinforcing. The client directed COLAB to investigate designs that would make a strong design statement giving the building a solid identity in its industrial neighborhood.
