The Ankeny Lofts are the first of several lots to be developed between SE 24th & 26th Avenues. Two separate modern buildings are sited on the lot, both with two units each, providing maximum flexibility for living and commercial options. The front building has one live-work unit at grade and a studio apartment above with rooftop access, both oriented to the street. It also features a custom steel wall sculpture by artist and Oregon College of Art & Craft Faculty member Christine Clark. The back building has two residential loft-style units each with private outdoor space and oriented to the mid-block courtyard.
All units are designed for energy efficiency and take advantage of natural lighting, with views to the street and neighborhood, private exterior bicycle garages and extensive use of ecoroofs and pervious paving / landscaping. The outdoor space between the buildings will be part of a future mid-block courtyard / walkway between adjacent lots—the first of its kind in Portland.
The Ankeny Lofts are transit & pedestrian oriented with direct access to Ankeny Street’s bicycle corridor and the E. Burnside transit corridor. Within walking distance is an extensive array of shops, restaurants and services along East Burnside Street and the thriving SE 28th Ave. The Ankeny Lofts represent the best of a low-impact, green and convenient urban living and work environment.
