Creekfront Ferry Terminals: Dubai, UAE

A new major development along the “Creek” in Dubai required that a new ferry terminal system be developed. COLAB was commissioned to design terminals for two sites. The intent on the transit agency was that the new buildings explore historic styles of architecture while exhibiting the new modern aesthetic of Dubai. Each design was very modern in it’s form and explored the use of traditional Arabic patterning to reflect local traditions, add beauty and provide shading from the harsh summer sun.
