Marlborough House: Portland, OR

The original house was constructed in 1969 as a northwest modern ranch. The owners purchased the house in 2005 intending to renovate and restore the house to its original state and add new elements to compliment the “good bones” that already existed. COLAB designed a new cherry paneling system with built-in bookshelves in the main living room and added a new gourmet kitchen with walnut cabinets and stainless steel counter tops. The original garage was converted into the master suite and a new garage was constructed with the added feature of a roof garden. The roof garden has enough soil to support large plants and trees.
