New Cairo City Section 9: New Cairo City, Egypt

The design of this new city in Cairo, Egypt encompasses the fundamental design theory of our client, which is to create livable neighborhoods and places that provide everyday services for the community within easy access to all without the requirement of using one’s car. Our design provides for such uses as a variety of retail, community services, open spaces, recreation, schools and education facilities, health care and work environments. This design contains eight different communities, all of which have space dedicated to each of the above uses. Each community will be linked by the introduction of a streetcar line. Life in this part of the new city will allow for residents to live a self-sufficient and sustainable lifestyle without needing to leave the development. To this end this design is linked together by a continuous green strand of parks affording the residents with constant contact to the natural environment.
