Planet Hollywood: Las Vegas, NV

Sotto Studios was asked by Planet Hollywood to re-brand the Aladdin Hotel and Casino as the new Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Continuing our collaboration, Sotto teamed with COLAB to create this new façade for the brand. The exterior design concept created a new and original façade inspired by the dramatic marquees of old Hollywood movie theatres.  The oscillating light bulb displays of these theatrical precedents were envisioned in super scale resulting in 3’-0” diameter discs lit by computer animated LED light sources.  The curving façade can present eye catching color shifts, graduations, or create immense graphics. In addition, the design concept of using essentially a large wrapping sign display allowed the façade to be built off site in large segments which radically reduced the on-site installation period and reduced disruptions to the hotel’s guests.
