Rheem Island: Abu Dhabi, UAE

The development agency of the Abu Dhabi government decided to develop islands near the city center into high-density commercial and residential centers. COLAB was part of a team of architects and engineers that included Perkins and Will, OTAK, YGH and Interface Engineering. COLAB was assigned to design a full city block of mixed-use buildings. The design reflects the nautical nature of the site with forms and color. The building maximizes efficiency of floor plans while taking advantage of the views to the city and sea.
